We are publishers specialized in miniature books - "colibri books" - hence our company name. Besides these books, we also publish postcards, folding picture books, magnets and guide books.

At present we mainly focus on running our four souvenir shops: two at Hluboká castle, one at Rozmberk castle and another one at Kratochvile castle. For all these shops, we publish our own materials for tourists including richly illustrated guide books. Moreover, we provide the shops with original souvenirs (made of paper, metal, ceramics, leather or stone) from other quality suppliers. Besides that, you can enjoy a cup of delicious Trombetta coffee and some refreshments while waiting for a guided tour at Rozmberk and Kratochvile castles.

We hope to improve your experience while visiting the above mentioned historical monuments - not only by what we offer, but perhaps just a smile or a nice chat.

In 1997 we began to publish our first postcards. Until 1999 we worked under the name "Blabla" (yes, it really means "Blah blah" in Czech) and we soon became known for our original hand-drawn postcards for tourists and water sportsmen. At this time, we had already cooperated with municipalities of various towns and cities, especially in Southern and Central Bohemia, and published postcards of cities, towns and villages. The collaboration with zoological gardens of the Czech Republic extended the range of our products by maxi-postcards, folders and gatefolds, calendars and picture bookmarks.

In 2001 we started publishing miniature books - "colibris". Originally, we were only releasing little notebooks with blank pages, but "colibris" filled with text followed soon. The ultimate version of the colibri book which we have been producing until now is a book with a stripe of picture gatefold inside. That is why we changed our name to Colibri Publishing in 2005.

In addition to our publishing activities, since 2007 we have run a stand in so called "greenhouse" of Hluboka nad Vltavou castle. A year later we added a castle shop at Rozmberk nad Vltavou. Because the National Heritage Institute was satisfied with how we had been running both shops, in 2009 we acquired a license for the main castle shop of Hluboka castle. And finally, a castle shop at Kratochvile castle was added in our portfolio in 2017. All of these places have their own original character and atmosphere and we thing that the quality of our shops and the possibility to buy a beautiful reminder of their visit enhances the tourists' experience of the castles.

Since then, our publishing activities have been oriented towards promotional materials for the given selling places - including guide brochures for Hluboka castle and Rozmberk castle in many language versions, plus numerous postcards, gatefolds and magnets. However, we keep collaborating with our regular customers for whom we mainly publish magnets and colibri books.

Our company has gradually grown in staff as we weren't able to cover all our activities ourselves. We would also like to thank all our employees and holiday workers, present and past, who thanks to their untiring and great work contribute to the existence of Colibri.

In 2019, we formally transformed the Colibri Publishing organization into a limited liability company (LLC). While the name changed a little, our work remains the same - and we want to do it as good as we can.
